Job summary

inspiring vet care is seeking a personable part-time Receptionist for New Priory in Brighton and Hove. The role covers 12 months on weekends, providing a warm, professional welcome to clients and patients while supporting appointment management and client communications.

You will work closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a smooth client and patient journey, handling enquiries, registrations and admin tasks in a busy veterinary practice.

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at New Priory on a part-time fixed‑term basis covering 12 months.

This is a great location in the vibrant seaside town of Brighton and Hove. With it’s exciting and diverse culture, beautiful beach and seafront and excellent transport links to central London and Gatwick airport, Brighton and the surrounding area is a fantastic place to live. Our Brighton Clinic is based within our flagship hospital in central Brighton. The clinic provides a comprehensive range of general practice veterinary services including medicine, surgery, radiography, ultrasound and dentistry along with the support of nursing clinics – all bolstered by excellent hospital facilities.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

Part‑time role working 19 hours per week on a Saturday & Sunday 8am-6pm.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve:

  • To be the first line contact for clients and their pet's within our practice's and via telephone
  • Triage emergencies & provide advice
  • Relay all messages taken accurately & act in a timely manner
  • Act in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
  • Welcome and register clients on arrival, make appointments.
  • Dispense medicines as directed by our Vet's.
  • Take payments and cash up.
  • Social Media content management
  • Complete referrals and other administration tasks
