Job summary

CVS Vets is seeking a Veterinary Patient Care Assistant with Reception Duties to support Harwood and Tottington sites. 40 hours per week, permanent contract, with a varied shift pattern including Saturdays.

You will assist Vets and RVNs, care for animals, and handle reception tasks such as appointments, payments, and client communications. A compassionate, team-focused approach is essential in our busy practice.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service and animal care is essential.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members.
• Empathy and resilience when handling distressed clients and animals.
• Teamwork mindset with willingness to support RVNs and Vets.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and practice management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and support to animal patients under supervision.
• Assist Vets and Nurses with restraint and procedures.
• Walk, feed, and clean patients; maintain hygiene in facilities.
• Prepare emergency and operating facilities for procedures.
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Run internal lab samples and assist with diagnostics.
• Answer emergency calls and support reception duties.
