Job summary

Medivet is seeking a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) to support nurses and vets with in-patient procedures and pet care, delivering exceptional care to clients, patients, and colleagues. The role includes 6pm-2am shifts Monday to Friday to cover day and night teams, with a focus on calm, efficient care.

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary support or similar care role.
• Ability to prioritise, stay calm under pressure, and learn quickly.
• Excellent client-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist vets and nurses with procedures and patient care.
• Provide feeding, walking, monitoring of in-patients.
• Deliver high-quality care to clients and patients.
• Support day and night teams during 6pm–2am shift Monday to Friday.

This role is not suitable for young workers in line with Health and Safety Executive (government) direction due to the expected duties of the role. Therefore, you will be asked to confirm that you are over the age of 18 as part of the application process.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Deliver exceptional care to clients, supporting surgeries and procedures, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards
• Deliver patient monitoring and care to pets, including walking, toileting and feeding
• Work collaboratively within a supportive team
• Work 6pm-2am Monday - Friday to support our day and night teams
