Veterinary Care Assistant

The Opportunity

As a Veterinary Care Assistant working in the Hampstead Village practice, you will be an integral part of the practice team, working with our Veterinary Surgeons, qualified Nurses, and Student nurses to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide a gold standard service to our patients and clients.
  2. Follow cleaning protocols to maintain cleanliness of the clinical environment.
  3. Prepare and maintain medical equipment.
  4. Deliver patient monitoring and care, including everyday care: walking, toileting, and feeding.
  5. Ensure the completion of all pre and post-operation activity.
  6. Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  7. Dispense any medication required under the guidance of the Veterinary team.
  8. Ensure compliance with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.

40 hours a week and 1:3 full weekends. This role is entitled to an additional location uplift of 6%. This role will be National Living Wage if you're aged 21 or over, and National Minimum Wage if you're aged under 21.

Your Skills and Experience:

  1. Experience of working as part of a team and building positive working relationships with colleagues.
  2. Able to provide exceptional care to clients and patients.
  3. Client care skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  4. Able to prioritise a range of tasks and own workload.
  5. Flexible and willing to learn.
  6. An understanding of the purpose and importance of regulation and compliance.
