Job summary

Linnaeus is recruiting a Cardiology/Laboratory Technician to join Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists in Hampshire. The role is permanent, part-time (33.5 hours per week) with Monday to Friday plus 1:4 Saturdays, supporting the veterinary team with laboratory tasks and patient care.

You will maintain hygiene, assist with sample preparation, record tests, and help with procedures while upholding high infection control standards and compassionate care for small animals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across clinical, kennel, and laboratory areas.
• Follow strict infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
• Clean and disinfect equipment, surfaces, and patient areas.
• Ensure appropriate waste disposal in line with clinical guidelines.
• Safely handle and restrain patients for procedures, examinations, and treatments.
• Assist with patient movement and positioning.
• Provide basic patient care, ensuring comfort and welfare at all times.
• Support the veterinary team during procedures as required.
• Assist with sample preparation and processing.
• Accurately record all laboratory tests and ensure they are correctly placed into the system.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organisation.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained, and ready for use.
