Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking an experienced Multi Trader to join our Direct Services Reactive Repairs team in Birmingham. You will perform a wide range of repairs across our homes, including plumbing, carpentry, plastering and tiling.

You’ll manage your own workload, work efficiently to targets, and deliver work right first time while keeping residents informed. A full UK driving licence and relevant trade qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in a Direct Labour Service or similar repairs environment with customer satisfaction at heart.
• Trade qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3) or equivalent across multiple trades.
• Experience delivering repairs across different trades.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
• Ability to diagnose faults and fix first time where possible.
• Excellent communication with residents, including those who may be vulnerable.
• Flexible, proactive approach and team mindset.
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends with notice; 24-hour call-out rota.
• Full UK driving licence with up to 6 points and two years driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of repairs across homes, including plumbing, carpentry, plastering and tiling.
• Manage workload daily and meet service targets, delivering work right first time.
• Communicate with residents to keep them informed throughout the repair process.
• Be part of a 24-hour emergency call-out rota when required.
