Job summary

University of Manchester is seeking a Venture Builder Performance Manager to operate within Unit M, supporting Innovate UK’s start-up ecosystem and the ICURe programme. You will own the Venture Builder pilot, delivering milestones, coordinating partners and reporting to senior stakeholders.

The role requires strategic leadership, strong analytical capability and experience in managing national delivery partnerships. Hybrid working arrangements and a competitive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and performance-managing national delivery partners.
• Track record of delivering large-scale programmes to time, cost and quality standards.
• Strong knowledge of research commercialisation and spin-out ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery and performance management of the Venture Builder pilot.
• Own programme impact analysis and quarterly updates for the Executive Team.
• Drive procurement and partner selection, including tender activities and bid evaluation criteria.
• Monitor governance, track metrics, milestones and reporting to boards.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement data-driven improvements.
• Build partnerships across Innovate UK, UKRI, Unit M and the wider ecosystem.
