Job summary

Lookers Blackburn Volkswagen is seeking a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our busy workshop in Blackburn. You will perform health checks, servicing, and repairs on a range of vehicles, with support from experienced technicians and ongoing brand training.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, a valid MOT licence, and a full UK driving licence. Competitive pay, structured progression, and strong benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent motor industry experience.
• MOT Licence and UK driving licence required.
• Self-motivated, able to work as part of a team and maintain high standards across vehicle service and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles.
• Check vehicles in line with manufacturers' guidelines.
• Fit additional customer-requested accessories.
• Perform vehicle health checks and report further work.
• Check lights, tyre pressure, mechanical and electrical components.
• Complete minor repairs on vehicles.
• Service and MOTs per guidelines and customer requests.
• Road test customer vehicles to verify fixes and document outcomes.
• Complete paperwork to a high standard.
