Lookers Darlington Volkswagen is seeking a qualified Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join its workshop. You will perform health checks, service vehicles to manufacturer standards and carry out repairs, reporting to the Aftersales Manager with ongoing support and opportunities for manufacturer accreditation training to accelerate your career.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a mechanic, be self-motivated, ambitious, and eager to learn, while being able to work to the highest standards.
• You will require a full UK driving licence and completion of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience working with a brand would be advantageous, although not essential as full brand accreditation training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out vehicle health checks using the latest technology
• Conducting vehicle service in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and customer requests
• Carrying out any additional repairs once authorised by the customer
• Warranty repairs are per the manufacturer’s guidelines and relevant write up is complete
• Taking the customer’s vehicle out on a road test to ensure all faults are rectified
• Complete all relevant paperwork to a high standard
