Job summary

Halfords in Totton, Hampshire, is seeking a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic to service and repair vehicles to a high standard. You will diagnose, replace components, and handle complex tasks like clutches, timing belts, brakes and electrics, with opportunities to pursue ATA & MOT qualifications.

The role is a full-time position with 5 days per week, a competitive salary (£34,640-£44,700) and an uncapped bonus scheme averaging £6,600 per year. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent, or time served experience.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience diagnosing brakes, steering/suspension, engine, and complex repairs (coolant, diesel injectors, head gasket, electrical).

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair work to required standards.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs including brakes, steering/suspension, engine, and electrics.
• Progress to more complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements.
