Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Bracknell is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Car Mechanic for our independent workshop. Basic salary £35,000–£40,000 with Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00, and no weekends. We use modern diagnostic tools and offer ongoing technical training in a supportive, non-corporate garage culture.

You will service vehicles, perform repairs, use scanners, maintain digital records, and work either independently or as part of a small team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 (or City & Guilds / time-served equivalent) with 3–5 years in a professional workshop.
• F‑Gas certification is preferred or an interest in obtaining it.
• Full UK driving licence is essential; MOT Tester licence preferred but not required.
• Own hand tools for daily workshop repair tasks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, preventative maintenance, safety checks and braking overhauls.
• Execute complex mechanical repairs including cambelts, timing chains, clutches, suspensions and steering.
• Use diagnostic scanners to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults.
• Maintain precise digital job records and comply with quality and safety standards.

Your Role

As a vital Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic in our Bracknell workshop, you will:

What You Need

• Qualifications & Experience: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or City & Guilds / time-served equivalent) with 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in a professional workshop. F‑Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
• Licensing: A full UK driving licence is essential. An active MOT Tester licence is preferred but not required.
• Equipment: Must possess your own hand tools for daily workshop repair tasks.
