Job Introduction

Our client is an exciting new brand for our used car division, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced MOT Tester/Technician to join our talented team.

As a Vehicle MOT Tester/Technician, you will be confident in conducting all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repairs. You will enjoy working on a variety of cars, maintain a professional attitude, and ensure the highest quality of service.

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle preparation, servicing, maintenance, and repair on various makes and models
• Use your technical knowledge to inspect engines and mechanical/electrical components, diagnose issues accurately using diagnostic equipment
• Carry out DVSA vehicle testing (if authorized)
• Repair and replace broken or defective parts to resolve vehicle defects
• Liaise with customers as necessary
• Road test vehicles to check for faults and repairs
• Support other Technicians in the workshop
• Follow checklists to ensure all procedures are completed
• Complete all documentation to the required standard

The Ideal Candidate

• Ability to work to deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
• Excellent team player and communication skills
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping
• Hold NVQ level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or relevant experience
• Full UK driving license
• Current valid MOT License is an advantage but not essential; the company will cover the cost if needed

Hours: 40 hours per week, spread over 7 days with a day off mid-week and Sunday on a rota initially.
