Job summary

Plantexpand Ltd. is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician for Wickford workshop. You will diagnose, repair, and service vehicles, install accessories, and perform safety checks. Bring your own basic tools and join a forward-thinking team committed to innovation and growth.

You will discuss repairs with customers, estimate timelines, conduct road tests, and ensure high-quality workmanship. The role includes on-site duties with occasional off-site visits and opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

• Plant & Vehicle Fitting experience required.
• Full valid Driving Licence with 6 points or less.
• Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualifications.
• Maintain any required professional qualifications.
• Demonstrate professionalism and corporate image.

Responsibilities

• Discuss required repairs with admin team and customers.
• Estimate repair timelines and set accurate expectations.
• Inspect vehicles to diagnose repairs and maintenance needs.
• Perform repairs or replace components to keep vehicles in good condition.
• Conduct road tests to verify repair quality and diagnose issues.
• Install and service vehicle accessories (parking sensors, cameras, tow bars, reverse cameras).
• Carry out safety checks and servicing tasks.
• Perform routine maintenance (oil/air filter changes, brake work, clutch repairs, gearbox adjustments, suspension work, diagnostics).
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and promote safety.
• Conduct quality control on completed work and provide feedback.
• Visit off-site locations when required and follow safety protocols.
• Take on additional duties as needed.

Responsibilities:

As a growing company, we work with some of the UK’s most recognised names, including Thames Water, Openreach, UKPN, Cadent, SGN, Enterprise, and the AA. Now, with the expansion of our business, we’re excited to recruit a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our workshop in Wickford.

• Communicate effectively with the admin team and customers to discuss required repairs.
  
• Estimate repair timelines and provide accurate expectations.

Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

• Plant & Vehicle Fitting experience is required for this position.
• Full valid Driving Licence with 6 points or less.
• Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualifications.
