Job summary

Holt-Recruitment is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join a busy fleet operation in Basildon, working across a range of vans and cars. The role offers a competitive basic salary up to £55,000 and a Monday-to-Friday pattern with 42.5 hours per week.

You will be responsible for servicing, maintenance and diagnosis of a mixed fleet, using diagnostic equipment to identify faults and ensure high standards of safety and quality. Overtime is paid at 1.5x.

Vehicle Technician – Fleet Vans & Cars

Location: Basildon
Salary: Up to £55,000 basic salary per year
Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x
Holiday: 28 days per year

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a busy fleet operation in Basildon, working across a range of vans and cars.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician with strong diagnostic ability who enjoys working in a varied, fast-paced environment and wants a stable Monday-to-Friday role with excellent earning potential.

The Role

As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair and diagnosis of a mixed fleet of vehicles, including cars and commercial vans.

You will need to be confident using diagnostic equipment and capable of accurately identifying and resolving complex mechanical and electrical faults.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on fleet cars and vans
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults accurately
• Complete inspections and ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard
• Carry out MOT-related preparation and general vehicle checks where required
• Work efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
• Record all work completed accurately

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Vehicle Technician with:

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience working on both cars and vans
• A solid background in vehicle servicing and repairs
• The ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
• A professional, reliable and hardworking approach
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Hours

42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Shift patterns:

• 8:00am – 5:30pm
• 8:30am – 6:00pm
