Job summary

Northgate Vehicle Hire seeks a skilled Vehicle Technician to maintain and repair our fleet, ensuring safety and legal compliance for customer hire. On-site role based in Blaydon with a strong focus on van and car maintenance.

Ideal candidates hold Level 2 with 3+ years of experience or Level 3 Technician qualification, and are committed to upskilling in hybrids, EVs, and related systems through internal IMI training.

Qualifications

• Maintenance and repair of vehicles to ensure safety and legality for hire.
• Level 2 Technician with at least 3 years experience or Level 3 Technician / Mechanic will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicles to ensure safety and legal compliance.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs on vans and cars.
• Follow IMI accredited training and upskill in hybrid, EV, braking systems, electrics.

About you

As a Vehicle Technician you are responsible for the maintenance and repair of our vehicles to ensure they are safe and legally compliant for our customers to hire. If you are Level 2 Qualified Technician with at least 3 years employment as a technician/mechanic or fully qualified Level 3 Technician / Mechanic, we would love to hear from you.

About our training

We have our own internal IMI accredited training department, where we can upskill you on such things as Hybrid & EV vehicle repair, Tail lift, braking systems, electrics etc: For those trained to Level 2, you can take a training needs analysis so we can build a personalised training program for you to increase your skillset.
