Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Vehicle Technician/MOT Technician for a fast-fit automotive centre in Swadlincote. The role covers MOTs and light repairs; the employer will fund qualifications and training.

Salary ranges £34,000–£36,000 per year, dependant on experience, with uncapped OTE £3,600. Mon-Fri 08:30–17:30, with Saturday rota and a day off in the week. 32 days holiday and a comprehensive benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician; no formal qualifications needed at start.
• Experience as an MOT Tester; Licence may be supported by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Complete MOTs on customer vehicles.
• Perform light and full-service work as part of the fast-fit team.
• Assist with other centre departments to meet targets.
• Ensure DVSA processes are followed correctly.

Job description

Our client, one of the UKs fastest growing fast-fit automotive businesses, is currently looking for a Vehicle Technician/MOT Technician based at their retail centre in Swadlincote.

A Vehicle Technician/MOT Technician will be responsible for completing MOTs on customers' vehicles, as well as other light repair work. You do not need to be a qualified technician for this role; our client is happy to put you through your qualifications.

Shift and schedule

08:30 17:30 Monday to Friday; Saturdays 08:30 16:00 on a rota with a day off in the week.

Responsibilities

• Completing MOTs on customer vehicles
• Light and full-service work
• Fast fit duties as and (when required)
• Working with the rest of the workshop to achieve targets
• Working with other centre departments (Service, Parts, etc) and ensuring that they are well informed
• Ensure the correct DVSA process is followed

Requirements

• Valid UK driving licence Essential
• Experience working as a Vehicle Technician (no qualifications needed)
• Experience as an MOT Tester (Would also discuss putting through your Licence!)
• Have a passion for the Automotive industry and want to develop further
• Want to learn and develop your knowledge of Hybrid cars
