Qualifications

  • Experience working on modern light commercial vehicles and passenger cars.
  • Full UK driving license required.

Job description

We are looking for a technician to join our friendly and supportive team at our site in St Albans, focusing on delivering excellent service to our customers.

We specialize in replacing major units and components on modern cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs), with a large customer base including many of the country's largest insurance fleet and lease companies.

The majority of our work involves engine replacements on vehicles under 7 years old. We seek a technician eager to work within a supportive team, committed to providing high-quality service.

Key Areas Of Responsibility
  • Repair and maintenance of modern cars and light commercial vehicles
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
  • Replacing major components such as engines, gearboxes, fuel systems, and turbos
  • Conducting vehicle health and safety checks and routine maintenance
  • Performing road tests and final vehicle inspections before sign-off
  • Collaborating with the workshop manager and supporting the sales team with technical diagnostics and fault analysis
  • Adhering to health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
The Ideal Candidate
  • NVQ Level 3 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or equivalent
  • Experience in repairing and replacing major units like engines, fuel injection systems, and turbos
  • Experience working on modern light commercial vehicles and passenger cars
  • Ability to strip engines to diagnose faults
  • Own tools required
  • Full UK driving license
  • F Gas qualification
  • Level 3 Electric/Hybrid vehicle system repair and replacement qualification
  • Diagnostic skills in mechanical and electrical systems

  • Good housekeeping skills, maintaining a clean and safe workspace
