Job summary

Northgate Vehicle Hire in Runcorn is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to maintain and repair a fleet of vans and cars ensuring safety and compliance for hire. A fully qualified Level 3 Technician/Mechanic is preferred, with opportunities to upskill through IMI accredited training in hybrids, EVs, and braking systems.

The Runcorn site welcomes a team of technicians supporting regional accounts; a strong work ethic is essential in a busy workshop environment with 42.5-hour weeks and overtime

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Level 3 Technician/Mechanic.
• Maintenance and repair of vehicles to ensure safety and legality for hire.
• Willingness to participate in internal IMI accredited training for hybrid, EV, braking systems, electrics, etc.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair our fleet to ensure safety and legal compliance for customers to hire.
• Perform diagnostics and routine servicing to reduce downtime.
• Assist in daily workshop operations and support branch growth.

Weekly Hours: 42.5 hours / Day Shifts Only. As and when required overtime is available and this is paid at time and half. Northgate Vehicle Hire are the UK's leading vehicle rental specialists. Our branches cover the UK, Ireland and Spain, our workshops maintain and repair our own fleet. Within the UK we operate circa 49,000 Vans and 19,000 Cars so there is a good variety of vehicles to work on.

Our Runcorn site is home to Northgate Vehicle Hire and our sister companies Auxillis and Charged EV, with a total of 41 colleagues. The workshop is supported by a wealth of experience from our Workshop and Branch Managers, with a stream of work from Regional and National Key accounts and a fleet of 1700 vehicles, you will join a team of 5 technicians to support the growth of the branch. Situated in close proximity to the motorway and local supermarkets. Runcorn has a great team spirit!

About you:As a Vehicle Technician you are responsible for the maintenance and repair of our vehicles to ensure they are safe and legally compliant for our customers to hire. If you are a fully qualified Level 3 Technician / Mechanic, we would love to hear from you.

About our training:We have our own internal IMI accredited training department, where we can upskill you on such things as Hybrid & EV vehicle repair, Tail lift, braking systems, electrics etc:
