Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician for a specialist classic and vintage vehicle workshop in Kenilworth. The role requires hands-on engine rebuilding experience and a minimum Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, working with traditional petrol engines.

Location is Kenilworth, Warwickshire. Salary up to £35,000 basic with overtime; expect overtime opportunities and a 8:30am–5:00pm schedule on weekdays.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine rebuilding and restoration.
• Strong knowledge of traditional petrol engines, carburettors, and distributor ignition systems.
• Minimum Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Strip, inspect, rebuild and assemble traditional petrol engines.
• Diagnose mechanical faults on classic and vintage vehicles.
• Repair and maintain carburettor fuel systems and distributor ignition systems.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
• Repair traditional braking, suspension, clutch and transmission systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults using traditional engineering methods.
• Complete engine rebuilding and restoration work to high-quality standards and agreed timescales.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician, Engine Builder, Engine Rebuilder, Classic Car Technician to join a specialist classic and vintage vehicle workshop in Kenilworth.

Applicants must have practical engine rebuilding experience, strong knowledge of traditional petrol engines and at least one year's workshop experience. A minimum Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent and a well-stocked toolbox are essential.

Location: Kenilworth, Warwickshire

Salary: Up to £35,000 Basic + Overtime

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm

• Experience diagnosing faults on classic or vintage vehicles
• Good understanding of traditional electrical, transmission, braking and suspension systems
• Strong mechanical skills, a reliable work history and a well-stocked toolbox
• Ability to work independently and within a small specialist workshop team
