Job summary

Probe UK Limited in Peterborough is seeking a practical Vehicle Technician to join the team. The role covers installing and servicing specialist vehicle adaptations across customer sites, dealerships and the workshop, ensuring safety and quality standards.

You will gain specialist engineering skills through ongoing training while delivering excellent customer service and making a real difference to people’s daily lives.

Qualifications

• Experienced automotive mechanic or engineer with a recognised motor vehicle mechanics qualification.
• Hands-on approach with high-quality workmanship and strong automotive/engineering aptitude.
• Basic knowledge of auto electrics; willing to develop EV tech, welding and fabrication.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills; flexible and deadline-driven.
• Full, valid driving licence and willingness to complete training.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and maintain specialist vehicle products to safety standards.
• Carry out mobile installations at customer premises and dealerships, plus workshop work.
• Perform quality-control checks and demonstrate product operation to customers.
• Manage daily schedules, meet deadlines and maintain accurate job reports and communications.
• Undertake ongoing training in auto electrics, EV tech, welding and fabrication; maintain tools and vehicles.

Vehicle Technician Pay, Hours and Benefits

• Up to £34,000 salary
• 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Vehicle Technician Candidate Requirements

• Experienced automotive mechanic or engineer, with a recognized qualification in motor vehicle mechanics
• Practical, hands-on approach with pride in delivering high-quality work and a strong automotive or engineering aptitude.
• Basic knowledge of auto electrics, with a willingness to develop skills in EV technology, welding and fabrication.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills, with a flexible, conscientious approach to meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with basic IT skills for job reports and email communication.
• Full, valid driving licence and commitment to completing all required training. Previous vehicle technician, automotive engineering or vehicle adaptation experience is advantageous but not essential.

Vehicle Technician Key Responsibilities

• Install, service and maintain specialist vehicle products, ensuring all work meets required quality and safety standards.
