Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Vehicle Technician in Leicester. The role involves performing diagnostic, warranty and repair work to manufacturer standards in a well-equipped workshop with modern tools.

You'll work on EV tasks if qualified, with strong training pathways and progression into Diagnostic Technician responsibilities, supported by a talented team and structured development programmes.

Qualifications

• Level 3 LV Maintenance required or equivalent.
• Diagnostic qualification required or desirable.
• Experience with diagnostics and manufacturer standards helpful.
• Ambition to progress with EV/hybrid accreditation.

Responsibilities

Vehicle Technician- Leicester

£46,295 basic | £50,000+ OTE (time saved, team profit, CSI bonus) 25 days' holiday + bank holidays | Life assurance & pension | Technician discounts & lifestyle perks Full-time | 45 hours per week (Mon–Fri 8am–5pm, 1 in 4 Sat 8am–1pm)

The Opportunity Vehicle Technician / Diagnostic Technician

You'll join a high-performing aftersales team in a well-equipped workshop with 16 ramps and a strong group of 11 experienced Technicians, including long-standing team members with deep product knowledge who are always happy to support.

You'll have access to OEM training, online learning, development programmes and on-site coaching — giving you everything you need to progress through technical levels and stay ahead of the latest technologies, including EV.

What You'll Do

• Carry out complex diagnostic, warranty and repair work to manufacturer standards.
• Complete EV tasks (if qualified) and hydraulic repairs safely and efficiently.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve hard-to-find faults.
• Support Apprentice Technicians with guidance and development.

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) plus a recognised Diagnostic qualification.
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Diagnostic Technician preferred, though brand-qualified candidates will also be considered.
• Strong teamwork, process discipline and high standards of safety and quality.
• Ambition to progress — ongoing manufacturer training provided, including EV and hybrid accreditation.
