Job summary

HiQ Tyres & Autocare is seeking a Vehicle Technician for a full-time, permanent role. Typical hours are 8:30am–5:30pm, Monday–Friday, with a half-day finish on Saturdays. Salary depends on experience.

You will inspect, maintain and repair vehicles to DVSA standards, using diagnostic equipment and manufacturer guidelines. Knowledge of servicing, repairs, and customer discussions is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience delivering interim, full and major services and relevant repair work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair vehicles to DVSA standards.
• Use dealer-level and generic diagnostic equipment for repairs.
• Perform repairs aligned with manufacturer standards.
• Explain repairs to customers and discuss next steps.
• Estimate time and cost for vehicle work and maintain records.
• Maintain health and safety and complete paperwork to a high standard.
• Carry out additional duties to support store operations.
• Handle store administration and stock checks.

Job description

HiQ Tyres & Autocare has an exciting new opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to join our team. The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis, Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm – half a day finish on a Saturday,salary depending on experience.

What you will be doing as a Vehicle Technician:

• Inspection, maintenance, and repair of vehicles to ensure road worthiness and reliability to DVSA standards.

• Use of dealer-level and generic diagnostic equipment to assist in time-efficient repairs.

• Perform repairs and maintenance in line with manufacturer standards and schedules.

• Discussing required repairs with customer

• Calculating the expected time and cost of vehicle work

• Always maintain health and safety standards, working within company guidelines and safe working practices.

• Complete job cards, maintenance records, and associated paperwork to a high standard

• To undertake any additional duties (within reason) for the efficient running of the Store.

• To carry out administration duties as required within the store.

• Assist in carrying out regular stock checks in accordance with Company Policy.

What you will need:

• Must have a Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience

• Must have a full driver’s licence with no more than 9 points

• Experience of delivering interim, full and major services plus relevant repair and replacement work (brakes, suspension and steering component replacement, air con service etc)
