Responsibilities

  • Inspect, service, and repair company commercial vehicles.
  • Rectify reported driver defects.

  • Conduct vehicle diagnostics.
  • Complete servicing documents for vehicles.
  • Attend breakdowns on-site or off-site and cover for supervisor when needed.

Your Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Technician based in Corby, Northamptonshire. The Vehicle Technician will be responsible for Inspection, Service and repair of company commercial vehicles to Department of Transport standards. Rectify reported driver defects and carry out other related duties.

  • To take vehicles on road test when it is deemed necessary for repair.
  • To take vehicles for MOT testing or outside workshops where specialist repairs are necessary.
  • Collecting parts as when a delivery cannot be made.
  • Undertake repairs as and when required on forklifts and other associated equipment, provided such equipment is not sourced via contract hire.
  • Complete servicing documents relevant to the vehicle being worked on.
  • Clean off vehicles/parts to enable corrective maintenance to be carried out competently.
  • Attend vehicle breakdowns when required both on site and off site where necessary.
  • Provide ad‑hoc cover for workshop supervisor when not on site.
  • Vehicle Workshop experience gained through recognised apprenticeship or equivalent training
  • LGV licence (desired not essential)
  • Competent with vehicle diagnostics
  • Knowledge of bulk pressure systems (desired not essential)
  • Understanding of Department of Transport operating requirements
