Job summary

RMS Recruitment is partnering with a prestigious automotive client to recruit several L3 Vehicle Technicians for Corby-based roles. You will diagnose faults, service and repair vehicles to manufacturer standards, ensuring only safe, road-worthy vehicles are dispatched.

You will work in a busy workshop under the Workshop Manager, with 37.5 hours per week across a two-shift rotation (6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm), Monday to Friday. The role offers temp-to-perm progression and overtime at enhanced rates.

Qualifications

• Must have L3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Mechanics or similar.
• Over 22 years old with valid driver's license (fewer than 6 penalty points).
• Two years' experience in Pre Delivery Inspections preferred.
• Must pass a skills test and show diagnostic capabilities.
• Understand Health & Safety regulations and cooperate with management.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults in vehicles and carry out repairs to manufacturers' standards efficiently.
• Carry out servicing on a variety of vehicle models and light commercial vehicles.
• Repair or replace faulty parts by removing assemblies and referencing manuals.
• Dismantle and check parts, reassemble, test, and adjust repaired parts or assemblies.
• Test and repair electrical systems.
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good condition.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations within the workshop.
• Participate in training sessions to improve technical skills.
• Undertake other duties as directed commensurate with the role.

About The Role

Working under the supervision and co-ordination of the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for diagnosing faults in products and to carry out any necessary repairs to ensure vehicles are mechanically sound prior to dispatch and that all vehicles comply with company and client regulations.

Role Responsibilities

• To diagnose faults in vehicles and to carry out repairs to the manufactures standards effectively and to ensure work is completed within standard operational timeframes.
• To carry out servicing on a variety of vehicle models and light commercial vehicles
• To repair or replace work or faulty parts by removing assemblies
• To dismantle and check parts, referring to manuals if necessary.
• To reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts or assembles.
• To test and repair electric systems.
• To keep workshop tools and equipment clean, organised, and in good working condition.
• To adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures within the workshop.
• To participate in training sessions and workshops to improve technical skills and knowledge.
• Undertake other duties as directed commensurate with the level of the job function.

About you?

• To be successful, you must be over 22 years old, possess a valid driver's license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes.
• To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to work the specified shift times above.
• The be successful, you must have a L3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Mechanics or similar.
• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience Pre Delivery Inspections.
• The ideal candidate will be required to complete a skills test and evidence diagnostic capability.
• The ideal candidate will understand health and safety and cooperate with managers to comply with Health & Safety regulations.
