Job summary

Volkswagen Chelmsford is seeking a Vehicle Technician to perform high-quality maintenance and repairs to VW cars and vans. You will inspect components, advise customers, and support a friendly service team in a busy workshop. A UK driving licence is required; MOT experience is a plus.

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Current UK driving licence; MOT licence advantageous but not essential.
• Dealership background encouraged for Level 2 technicians.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail; team player.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs following manufacturer standards.
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle components to assess wear or required replacements.
• Provide expert technical advice to customers with clear communication.
• Maintain excellent customer service and foster trust leading to repeat business.
• Collaborate with service reception and workshop control for smooth workflow.
• Support and mentor fellow Technicians to promote teamwork and knowledge sharing.

The Job

• Perform high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs, following manufacturer standards and guidelines to ensure reliability and safety
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle components to assess wear, damage, or required replacements
• Provide expert technical advice to customers when necessary, ensuring clear and professional communication
• Maintain exceptional customer service standards, fostering trust that leads to repeat business and referrals
• Collaborate effectively with the service reception team and workshop control for seamless workflow and customer satisfaction
• Offer support and guidance to fellow Technicians in the workshop, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing

About You

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent qualification
• Experienced Level 2 qualified technicians with a dealership backgroundare encouraged to apply
• Thorough understanding of vehicle safety standards and guidelines
• Strong problem-solving skills, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of work
• Proven ability to meet efficiency targets while maintaining a keen eye for detail
• Ability to collaborate and contribute positively within a team environment
• A current valid MOT licence is advantageous but not essential
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence
