Job summary

Lloyd Motor Group is seeking a Vehicle Technician for Lloyd Land Rover Carlisle. You will perform servicing, repairs and diagnostics to manufacturer standards, with ongoing manufacturer training and genuine career progression opportunities.

The role offers flexible working patterns and an industry-leading package with a potential total earnings up to £60,000, including an introductory bonus up to £3,000 and enhanced overtime. Training is provided to develop your skills and qualifications.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent qualification) is required.
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills are essential.
• Team-focused attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose faults using the latest manufacturer diagnostic tools.
• Complete health checks and identify areas of concern.
• Prepare new and Approved Used vehicles for delivery.
• Complete repair work in line with procedures and record labour and parts.
• Communicate additional repair needs to Workshop Controller or Service Manager.
• Maintain high safety and cleanliness standards in the workshop.
• Keep the workshop tidy and organized.

What We’re Looking For

You may currently be working as a:

• Vehicle Technician
• Mechanic
• MOT Tester
• HGV Technician
• Auto Technician

Essential requirements:

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent qualification)
• A passion for delivering high-quality work
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
• A team‑focused attitude with a willingness to learn and develop

Experience with a manufacturer franchise would be beneficial, but is not essential.

About the Role

As a Vehicle Technician, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional standards of workmanship and customer care. Responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards
• Diagnosing faults using the latest manufacturer diagnostic technology
• Completing vehicle health checks and identifying areas of concern
• Preparing new and Approved Used vehicles
• Completing technical repair work in line with documented procedures
• Recording work completed, labour and parts used accurately
• Communicating additional repair requirements to the Workshop Controller or Service Manager
• Ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and cleanliness standards
• Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment

*T&Cs of welcome bonus

You will be eligible for an Introductory Bonus of £3,000, which will be payable in two instalments, £1,000 in your first month’s wages when you join and a further £2,000 once you have successfully completed 6 months’ service.

These payments are subject to tax and NI deductions.

Should you leave the Company within 12 months of receiving the above payments by way of resignation or termination due to gross misconduct or unsatisfactory performance, you will reimburse the Company £1,000 of the introductory bonus (and the Company will be entitled to recover all or part of such sum by deduction from your final salary).
