Job summary

Lloyd Motor Group in York is recruiting a Vehicle Technician to join our team. You will perform service and repair work, document hours and parts, and ensure safety standards are met.

We offer an introductory bonus of up to £3,000, a salary of £35,500–£52,000 with uncapped bonuses, and a range of flexible hours and extensive manufacturer training.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders with repairs, parts, and labour details.
• Test vehicles with diagnostic devices and report results to Workshop Controller.
• Interpret manufacturer data and perform routine service work.
• Remove/install vehicle components following manufacturer methods.
• Carry out vehicle health checks and identify concerns.
• Prepare new and Approved Used vehicles for delivery.
• Perform repairs according to documented procedures and standards.
• Record hours and materials used for each job.
• Ensure safety standards are met when vehicles return to customers.
• Keep workshop clean and orderly at end of shift.

Vehicle Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Technician to join Lloyd Motor Group based in York.

Additionally, as part of a new scheme, we are offering an introductory bonus of up to £3000 for joining the company (Terms & Conditions apply, agency candidates are not eligible.).

Salary: £35,500 - £52,000 depending on experience and qualifications, this also includes uncapped bonuses.

We also offer an enhanced hourly overtime rate.

Role Responsibilities:

• Complete work orders including details of repairs completed, parts required and labour to be charged.
• Test vehicles using measuring devices to provide accurate diagnostic reports to the Workshop Controller.
• Interpret and use technical data and instruction provided by the manufacturer.
• Conduct routine service work on vehicles brought into the workshop.
• Remove and install vehicle components in accordance with the manufacturer’s methodology.
• Carry out vehicle health checks and identify areas of concern.
• Carry out preparations for new and Approved Used vehicles.
• Perform technical repair work in accordance with established and documented procedures.
• Ensure any faults have been reported and noted on job cards and inform the Service Manager/ Workshop Controller of any additional faults not covered in the scope of the repair and delay to completion.
• Record details of work including all hours worked and material usage.
• Ensure vehicle safety standards have been complied with when returned to customers.
• Ensure vehicles are protected and kept clean during service and repair.
• Ensure the workshop is clean and tidy at the end of the shift, ready for the day shift.
