Job summary

Prodrive is seeking a Vehicle Technician for our Birmingham Car Build facility to support an automotive programme from pre-production through to series production. You will work from engineering specifications, build documentation and work instructions to assemble, modify, rework and build vehicles to exact quality standards.

The role requires Level 3 NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience in automotive engineering, plus track record in vehicle assembly, disassembly,

Qualifications

  • Level 3 NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or similar, or equivalent experience in Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Assembly Technician, Build Technician, Manufacturing Technician, or similar automotive role.
  • Experience in vehicle assembly, disassembly, refit, rework, and rectification activities.
  • Experience working within automotive manufacturing, pre-production, low-volume production, or vehicle build environments.
  • Ability to interpret, build specifications, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to build quality.
  • Ability to maintain accurate build and rework documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Build, strip, modify, rework, and refit pre-production & production vehicles in accordance with approved engineering specifications and build requirements.
  • Carry out complete and partial vehicle disassembly and reassembly activities to support build updates, engineering changes, quality improvements, and rectification activities.
  • Install, replace, and adjust vehicle components and systems including interior, exterior, electrical, chassis, suspension, driveline and trim assemblies.
  • Perform vehicle rework and rectification activities arising from quality concerns, build issues, engineering changes, or audit findings.
  • Assemble components and systems at both sub-assembly and complete vehicle level.
  • Diagnose and rectify assembly and installation issues identified during build, inspection, and verification activities.
  • Conduct end-of-line inspections, testing, and functional verification checks on vehicles
  • Maintain accurate build records, rework documentation, and vehicle configuration information.
  • Prepare vehicles for internal reviews, customer events, validation activities, and production readiness assessments.
  • Support business requirements including overtime and peak build periods to achieve programme milestones.

We are looking for a Vehicle Technician to support an automotive programme from pre-production through to series production within the new Birmingham-based Car Build facility. Working from engineering specifications, build documentation, and work instructions. This role is responsible for the assembly, modification, rework, and build of vehicles to the required quality specification, to support programme and launch timing.

Key Responsibilities
