Job summary

Prodrive is seeking a Systems Design Engineer to join our Engineering Vehicle Design group, delivering high-performance vehicle systems from concept to manufacture. The role requires degree-level Mechanical/Automotive engineering and proven motorsport design experience, with strong CAD skills (NX/Teamcenter) and a collaborative, fast-paced mindset.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in a high-performance motorsport design environment.
  • Proven expertise designing and integrating vehicle systems.
  • Strong understanding of systems design, materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams from concept through to manufacture.
  • Excellent CAD skills; Siemens NX and Teamcenter advantageous.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for motorsport and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Design components across powertrain integration and fluid systems.
  • Collaborate with simulation and analysis teams to optimise systems.
  • Produce concept designs and detailed engineering solutions meeting performance, weight and cost targets.
  • Deliver CAD assemblies and detailed designs to timelines and budgets.
  • Release parts and BOMs; ensure BOM accuracy and currency.
  • Consider commercial impact of design decisions on part manufacture and BOM costs.
  • Support design reviews and continuous improvement across programmes.
  • Liaise with external suppliers and internal teams to ensure manufacturability.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Design Engineer to join our Engineering Vehicle Design group, to provide systems design expertise across a variety of high-performance motorsport programmes. You will be supporting the design, development and delivery of components from concept through to manufacture and track deployment.

Key responsibilities
  • Design components across powertrain integration and fluid systems.
  • Work closely with simulation and analysis teams to develop and optimise systems.
  • Produce concept designs and detailed engineering solutions that meet performance, weight and cost targets.
  • Deliver CAD assemblies and detailed designs to agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Release parts and assembly structures onto Bills of Materials.
  • Ensure Bills of Materials are accurate, current and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Understand and consider the commercial impact of design decisions on component manufacture and future Bill of Materials costs.
  • Support design reviews and continuous improvement activities across programmes.
  • Liaison with external suppliers, as well as internal departments and stakeholders to ensure designs are manufacturable, robust and delivered to programme requirements.

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a high-performance motorsport design environment.
  • Proven expertise designing and integrating vehicle systems.
  • A strong understanding of systems design, materials and manufacturing processes.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, taking designs from concept through to manufacture.
  • Excellent CAD skills, with Siemens NX and Teamcenter experience an advantage.
  • The ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions in a fast-paced, championship-winning environment.
  • A passion for motorsport, innovation and engineering excellence, with the ambition to help shape the next generation of World Championship-winning rally and endurance race cars.
