Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Faringdon is looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician/Auto Mechanic to join our busy workshop. You will perform fast-fit services, diagnose and repair steering/suspension, service brakes, fit exhausts, and conduct routine vehicle health checks.

The role requires NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds, strong hands-on experience in fast-fit operations, and a full UK driving licence. Own hand tools and a stable, collaborative attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Auto Mechanic or Service Technician (NVQ Level 2, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent time-served garage experience).
• Strong hands-on background in fast-fit operations, routine vehicle servicing, mechanical repairs, and general auto maintenance.
• Excellent technical knowledge, sharp attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a reliable team-player attitude.
• A full UK driving licence is required for road testing customer vehicles.
• Must possess your own hand tools to manage daily service and mechanical repair duties.

Responsibilities

• Execute fast-fit services including tyre replacement, wheel alignment, balancing, and puncture repairs.
• Diagnose and repair steering and suspension systems, replacing worn components.
• Perform braking system maintenance, inspecting and fitting pads, discs, calipers, and lines.
• Fit exhaust systems and complete exhaust repairs across various car makes and models.
• Carry out routine car servicing, preventative maintenance, and digital vehicle health checks.

Your Role

As a dedicated Vehicle Service Technician / Auto Mechanic within our busy Faringdon workshop, you will:

• Execute fast-fit services including complete tyre replacement, wheel alignment, balancing, and puncture repairs with high efficiency.
• Diagnose and repair steering and suspension systems, safely replacing worn shock absorbers, coil springs, and suspension arms.
• Perform comprehensive braking system maintenance, inspecting, servicing, and fitting brake pads, discs, calipers, and fluid lines.
• Fit exhaust systems and complete exhaust repairs across a diverse range of car makes and models.
• Carry out routine car servicing, scheduled preventative maintenance, and precise digital vehicle health checks (VHC).

What You Need

• Qualifications: Fully qualified Auto Mechanic or Service Technician (NVQ Level 2, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent time-served garage experience).
