Job summary

Hawk Hiring is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician/Car Mechanic to join our established independent workshop in a clean, modern setting where your skills are valued.

You will service, diagnose, and repair vehicles with up-to-date equipment. A Full UK driving licence is essential; F-Gas preferred; MOT tester licence is a plus. Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:30, weekends off.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 (or City & Guilds/time-served equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• F-Gas certification preferred or interest in obtaining it.
• Full UK driving licence essential; MOT tester licence preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, brake overhauls, clutch replacements, timing belts, and general mechanical maintenance.
• Utilize modern diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and engine management faults.
• Maintain high safety and quality standards to deliver first-time fix results and workshop efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with workshop colleagues to ensure smooth job flow.

Your Role

As a vital member of our technical team, you will:

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, brake overhauls, clutch replacements, timing belts, and general mechanical maintenance.
• Utilize modern diagnostic equipment to systematically troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and engine management faults.
• Maintain high safety and quality standards to deliver clean "first-time fix" results and maintain workshop efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with workshop colleagues to ensure smooth job flow and uphold our trusted reputation.

What You Need

• Qualifications & Experience: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or City & Guilds / time-served equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair. Proven experience working in a professional garage setting. F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
• Licensing: Full UK driving licence is essential. An active MOT Tester licence (Class 4/7) is preferred but not required.
• Equipment & Mindset: Must possess your own hand tools for daily workshop tasks. Strong problem-solving mindset, high attention to detail, and a reliable work ethic.
