Job summary

Volkswagen Group is offering an apprenticeship for a Service Technician/Mechanic with extensive hands-on training. The programme covers diagnostics, servicing, and repair across traditional, hybrid and modern engines, with a focus on delivering high-quality customer service and career progression.

The three-year apprenticeship includes remote learning plus face-to-face weeks at the National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes.

Qualifications

• Use of diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults.
• Testing of parts and systems to ensure correct working.
• Following checklists to ensure all critical parts of vehicles are examined.
• Carrying out bumper to bumper overview, service, and inspection.
• Maintenance of electronic systems including onboard entertainment systems.
• Undertaking repair and maintenance of vehicle parts including clutches, gearboxes, tyres, brakes, and suspension.
• Completion of legible and accurate paperwork for customers and centres records.
• Maintenance of a clean and tidy work environment.

Responsibilities

• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and assess vehicle condition.
• Carry out routine service and inspection under supervision.
• Follow checklists to ensure thorough examination of critical parts.
• Maintain electronic systems and onboard entertainment diagnostics.
• Repair and maintenance of components such as clutch, gearbox, brakes and suspension.
• Keep accurate paperwork for customers and centre records.
