Job summary

Rolls‑Royce Motor Cars, part of the BMW Group, invites two placement year students to join the New Model Launch Team at Goodwood for July 2027. You’ll gain hands-on experience preparing, managing, and delivering motorcar builds while meeting cost, quality, and time targets.

You will work in a fast-paced environment with ~50 team members across 5 roles, supported by mentorship and opportunities to impact real production processes.

Qualifications

• Externally studying a Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree, on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in a Mechanical/Automotive Engineering degree.
• Comfortable working with instability, uncertainty, constant change and ambiguity in a dynamic environment.
• Desirable – Experience with collaboration software such as Microsoft Office 365, Jira/Confluence and basic data analysis.
• Problem solving, time management and communication skills demonstrated through university projects and activities.

Responsibilities

• Play an active role in supporting the team with improving parts, product and processes to meet needs, including root-cause analysis and implementing solutions.
• Involvement in implementing business process improvements, digitalisation and KPI creation with process mapping and reporting.
• Support daily stand-up meetings with the wider team.
• Operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and gain hands-on production experience.
• Mentorship and opportunities to demonstrate initiative and have an impact.
• Time in other technologies to broaden understanding of the business.
