Job summary

Halo is seeking a skilled Panel Beater to join our Accident Repair Centre in Cardiff. You will repair damaged vehicles to their original condition, meeting insurers' high standards in a modern, fast-paced environment.

With proven experience in panel repairs, including MET skills, you will work to tight deadlines, maintain a clean workspace, and collaborate with the team to deliver outstanding results for customers and insurers alike.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a panel beater in automotive repair.
  • Confident in repairing Hybrid and EV vehicles using appropriate methods.
  • In-depth knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and highly organized with a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform panel repair and replacement to the highest standard.
  • Weld and bond replacement panels and components securely.
  • Applying fillers and sealants to smooth surfaces and prepare them for painting.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace.
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are used safely and maintained to a high standard.
  • Follow company procedures and maintain a positive attitude throughout the day.

Job description

Salary: £54,600 per annum (£21 per hour) with an increase on completion of probation

Hours: 7am – 5pm Monday to Friday and 1 in 2 Saturdays 8am – 12pm depending on business needs

We are looking for a Panel Beater to join our Accident Repair Centre in Cardiff. You will be responsible for carefully repairing damaged vehicles to their original condition, delivering high-quality results that meet our insurers’ rigorous standards. With a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of vehicle repair, you will work efficiently in a modern fast-paced clean environment, collaborating as a team player and consistently meeting tight deadlines.

This role will include, but is not limited to:
  • Perform panel repair and replacement to the highest standard.
  • Demonstrate confidence in MET skills, such as rebuilding doors and fitting front panels and other vehicle components using the correct tools and equipment.
  • Weld and bond replacement panels and components securely.
  • Apply fillers and sealants to smooth surfaces and prepare them for painting.
  • Always maintain a clean and organized workplace.
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are used in accordance with safety requirements and maintained to a high standard.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, to prevent accidents.
  • Follow company procedures, policies, practices, and management instructions.
  • Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude throughout the workday.
