Job summary

RMS is seeking skilled Paint Technicians for a 3-month fixed term contract at our Killingholme workshop. You will perform minor paint repairs using SMART techniques to ensure high standards before dispatch, under the supervision of the Workshop Manager.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in vehicle paint spraying, NVQ in Vehicle Spraying or equivalent, and a clean driving record with fewer than 6 points.

Qualifications

• Must be over 22 years old
• Valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 penalty points
• No DR10 offenses for insurance purposes
• NVQ in Vehicle Spraying or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in vehicle paint spraying
• Must pass skills test: Colour matching, paint rectification and touch up using water/solvent-based materials
• Basic understanding of health and safety and cooperate with managers to follow regulations

Responsibilities

• Prepare and carry out paint repairs
• Paint vehicles to manufacturer standards using SMART techniques
• Use materials per manufacturer instructions and minimise waste
• Remove and replace mouldings, transfers and decals
• Apply finishing materials and perform masking and sanding
• Prepare substrate for refinishing and carry out colour matching
• Carry out paint rectification and touch-up work
• Inspect paint and trim for compliance
• Maintain tools and equipment in the workshop
• Adhere to health & safety procedures at all times
• Undertake any other duties as directed
