We are looking for skilled automotive professionals to join a training team at MOD Lyneham. This role offers the opportunity to use your practical experience to teach and mentor the next generation of military vehicle technicians. You will deliver hands‑on training in a workshop environment while helping students develop real‑world skills.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver practical, workshop‑based training to students using structured course materials and interactive teaching methods
Prepare lesson plans, practical exercises, and assessments to support effective learning
Monitor student progress and provide guidance or remedial support where needed
Keep training content up to date with current vehicle technologies and maintenance practices
Work with colleagues to improve training quality and ensure courses are engaging and effective

Ideal Candidate

This role is suited to individuals currently working in automotive maintenance, vehicle repair, or engineering roles who want to transition into training. Candidates will have:

Hands‑on experience in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair for light vehicles or HGVs
Strong understanding of workshop processes and vehicle systems
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and help others develop practical skills
Confidence using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Enthusiasm for teaching and supporting others in learning

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance or Engineering, such as City & Guilds, Apprenticeship, or military equivalent
Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training or willingness to achieve this qualification as part of the role
