Job summary

Lotus Cars in Norfolk/UK is recruiting General Operators for the Trim department. You will support preparation, trimming, finishing and assembly of vehicle interior components in a hands-on manufacturing setting, meeting daily production targets with a focus on quality and safety.

The role emphasises accurate measuring, cutting, sewing and material handling, with opportunities for training and progression within a major automotive brand. 38 hours per week, agency staffing model.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience with leather, fabric or trim materials.
• Basic trimming, sewing or upholstery skills.
• Reading and following written instructions and standard work processes.
• Able to work to defined production times and quality standards.
• Flexible and self-motivated; good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, measure, mark and cut trim materials using patterns and templates.
• Operate sewing machines to join materials and perform decorative stitching.
• Support embroidery processes for logos and branding.
• Remove and replace trim materials in preparation for retrimming.
• Apply adhesives accurately to materials and components.
• Position, stretch and bond materials onto components.
• Trim and finish edges and ensure seams are correct.
• Assemble and fit completed trim components.
• Inspect finished work for defects and quality issues.
• Carry out rework and repairs as required.
• Follow documented processes and meet production times.
• Handle materials and tools safely and properly.
• Report quality or production concerns to Team Leader.
