Job summary

Cox Automotive, operating through Manheim Auction Services, is hiring vehicle inspectors in Leeds to deliver accurate inspections of cars and commercial vehicles in line with our SOPs and BVRLA standards. You will support yard operations, photograph vehicles, manage keys, and communicate inspection outcomes to customers with professionalism.

You will work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment, ensuring data is uploaded promptly and priorities are managed to meet performance targets.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate inspections of cars and commercial vehicles per SOPs and BVRLA policy.
• Complete Assured and Scheme Inspections with high precision.
• Support yard operations to maintain vehicle flow and efficiency.
• Take high-quality vehicle photographs for marketing and records.
• Manage vehicle keys and storage to ensure traceability.
• Communicate outcomes clearly to customers and maintain service value.
• Sync and download vehicle data to support interdepartmental workflows.
• Prioritise workload to meet quality and quantity targets.
• Perform VT inspections using adjusted processes where applicable.

Job description

To consistently provide efficient and effective vehicle inspection products and services to Manheim's customers. All Manheim vehicle inspectors are responsible for consistently achieving quality and quantity outputs in line with our SLA's and branch targets.

What You'll Be Doing

• Conducting accurate inspections of cars and commercial vehicles in line with Manheim's Standard Operating Procedures and the BVRLA fair wear and tear policy
• Completing Assured and Scheme Inspections with precision and consistency, meeting defined quality standards and processes
• Supporting yard operations, including the movement and flow of vehicles, to maintain efficiency across the site
• Taking high-quality photographs of vehicles, ensuring all images meet our current standards and support effective marketing
• Managing key storage processes to ensure all vehicle keys are correctly stored, tracked, and traceable at all times
• Interacting with customers when required, providing clear and professional information about inspection outcomes, and reinforcing the value of our service
• Syncing and downloading vehicle data promptly to support interdepartmental workflows
• Prioritising your workload and taking a proactive approach to meet both quality and quantity performance targets
• Carrying out inspections for Voluntary Termination (VT) vehicles using the adjusted process where applicable

Technical Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of BVRLA fair wear and tear standards
• Basic mechanical knowledge is an advantage
• Familiarity with vehicle makes, models, and derivatives
• Computer literate - confident using handheld devices and computer systems

• Able to work well under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
