Job summary

Lothian Buses Ltd. is seeking a Vehicle Examiner to join our Engineering Team in Livingston. The role involves carrying out routine examinations in line with DVSA testing requirements and our engineering SOPs, ensuring vehicles meet and exceed standards.

This is a permanent day-shift position, 40 hours per week, with comprehensive training and development opportunities. We offer £43,260 per annum, 5 weeks annual leave, on-site parking, free travel across our network, and health plans to support

Qualifications

Examine vehicles to DVSA standards and beyond.
Safely audit vehicle readiness and MOT presentation.
Adhere to health & safety regulations during inspections.

Responsibilities

To examine vehicles to comply with and exceed minimum DVSA standards at all times
To provide Supervisors with the necessary accurate information to ensure that performance indicators are being achieved
To audit vehicles for MOT presentation
To provide Supervisors with information concerning reoccurring faults/defects
Ensuring health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
To ensure that all company policies relating to vehicle condition presentation and standards criteria are used at all times when assessing defects
To stay informed with current legislation relating to Vehicle Inspectorate MOT standards and categorisation of defects.
