Job summary

Expleo Group is seeking an EDS Engineer in Leyland to deliver harness and routing designs for multiple engine platforms, including EV lines. The role is hybrid with three days on-site weekly, requiring strong Saber, Creo and Windchill skills and a proactive, detail-focused engineering mindset.

Candidates with experience on HGV/PCV chassis and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams to meet tight timelines will excel. UK driving licence and engineering degree are desired.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent background in automotive engineering.
• HNC/HND acceptable if accompanied by significant demonstrable experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver harness and routing designs for engine platforms (4 and 6 cylinder) and EV platforms.
• Collaborate with Project Management and Vehicle Test Team to finalise timelines and coordinate material for electrical harnessing.
• Develop electrical design and schematic inputs.
• Route harnesses using 3D tools.
• Participate in design reviews and provide engineering support throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Support packaging, design and development of LV and high voltage harness systems for BEVs.
• Evaluate LV distribution concepts considering DCDC power levels, distribution and BMS.
• Work with cross-functional teams to support system integration, validation and issue resolution.

Job description

Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking an EDS Engineer to deliver harness and routing designs for various Engine Platforms both 4 and 6 cylinder and new EV platform. The successful candidate is expected to be conversant with client toolsets as well as current thinking/techniques in Automotive EDS Engineering.

The work is expected to be done in a hybrid fashion with at 3 days a week on-site.

We are looking for energetic and driven engineers with broad expertise, however of particular interest would be candidates with previous experience working on HGV or PCV chassis.

Responsibilities

• Deliver harness and routing designs for various Engine Platforms both 4 and 6 cylindernad EV platforms
• Good understanding of EV platforms
• Collaborate with Project Management and Vehicle Test Team to finalise timelines and co-ordinate material for all electrical harnessing to ensure on time delivery for each prototype build.
• Develop electrical design and schematic inputs
• Route haresses using 3D tools.
• Participate in design reviews and provide engineering suport throuout the product development lifecycle.
• Support packaging, design and development of LV and high voltage harness systems for BEVs.
• Evaluate various low voltage distribution concepts for next gen EV vehicles which takes into account DCDC power levels, power distribution and low voltage battery management.
• Work closely with corss-functional teams tosupport system integration, design validation and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in Engineering with relevant background
• A lower qualification would be acceptable for example HNC/HND should the candidate be able to demonstrate significant demonstrable experience in lieu
• Full UK (or equivalent) driving licence.

Essential Skills

• Design and development of automotive wiring harnesses using Saber.
• Use of PTC Creo for electrical wire harness design/routing
• Use of PTC Windchill PLM toolset.

Experience

• Extensive experience in the design and development of automotive wiring harnesses
• Experience in the use of CREO and Sabre.
