Job summary

Tru Talent is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Fitter for a busy workshop in Trafford Park, Manchester. The role involves assembling vehicle bodies, installing insulated panels, and handling electrical terminations.

You will read engineering drawings and work from orders to meet quality targets in a growing team. The position offers a stable, permanent role with training provided, upskilling in vehicle body assembly and related manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Mechanical Fitter, Vehicle Bodybuilder or Assembly Technician.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and workflow.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to meet targets and quality standards.
• Read engineering drawings and work from work orders.
• Install insulated panels onto commercial vehicle bodies.
• Carry out electrical terminations including lighting, switches and tail lifts.
• Seal joints, floors and roofs using silicone and gel coatings.
• Cut metals, woods and plastics with hand tools and bench equipment.
• Use measurement equipment safely as a Vehicle Bodybuilder.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and comply with safety procedures.
