Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking an Experienced VDA/Estimator based in Walsall to assess accident-damaged vehicles, produce accurate estimates, and determine the most effective repair methods.

In this full-time role you will work closely with customers, insurers and the repair team to ensure repairs are correctly estimated and completed to the highest standards, in a modern workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a VDA, Vehicle Damage Assessor or Estimator within an automotive accident repair environment.
• Strong understanding of Panel, MET and Paint repair processes.
• Experienced in assessing accident damage and producing accurate repair estimates.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle construction, repair methods and replacement procedures.
• Confident using estimating systems and relevant industry software.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess accident-damaged vehicles and accurately identify the extent of repairs required.
• Prepare detailed repair estimates using appropriate estimating systems.
• Determine suitable repair methods, labour requirements and replacement parts.
• Identify additional damage and prepare supplements where required.
• Liaise with customers, insurers and other stakeholders throughout the repair process.
• Work closely with Panel, MET and Paint Technicians to ensure estimates reflect required repairs.
• Monitor vehicle repair progress and communicate any changes or additional requirements.
• Ensure estimates and repair processes comply with manufacturer methods, industry standards and Health & Safety requirements.

THE ROLE

As an Experienced VDA / Estimator, you will be responsible for assessing accident-damaged vehicles, preparing accurate estimates and determining the most appropriate repair methods.

You'll work closely with customers, insurers, technicians and the wider bodyshop team to ensure repairs are accurately estimated, efficiently managed and completed to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess accident-damaged vehicles and accurately identify the extent of repairs required

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for an experienced and technically knowledgeable VDA / Estimator with a strong background in accident repair and the ability to produce accurate, commercially sound estimates.

• Proven experience as a VDA, Vehicle Damage Assessor or Estimator within an automotive accident repair environment
• Strong understanding of Panel, MET and Paint repair processes
• Experienced in assessing accident damage and producing accurate repair estimates
• Strong knowledge of vehicle construction, repair methods and replacement procedures
• Confident using estimating systems and relevant industry software
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail with a methodical and accurate approach
• Commercially aware with good organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Able to work effectively within a busy bodyshop environment
• Professional, motivated and customer-focused approach
• IMI and/or ATA qualifications advantageous
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred
