Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Lincoln is seeking a Vehicle Damage Assessor to accurately assess vehicle damage and prepare repair estimates, ensuring a fast and high-quality repair process.

You will work with technicians, insurers and customers to ensure repairs meet standards, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a realistic OTE. A stable permanent role in a professional bodyshop environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor, Estimator or Bodyshop Estimator.
  • Experience using recognised estimating software such as Audatex or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of modern vehicle repair methods and insurance procedures.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting damaged vehicles and identifying all repair requirements.
  • Producing accurate repair estimates using industry-recognised estimating systems.
  • Liaising with customers, insurers and internal departments throughout the repair process.
  • Ordering and authorising replacement parts where required.
  • Monitoring repair progress and updating estimates when necessary.
  • Ensuring repairs meet manufacturer methods and insurance standards.
  • Supporting the workshop to achieve productivity and quality targets.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with company procedures.

VEHICLE DAMAGE ASSESSOR

Salary: DOE £38,000 - £42,000+ | OTE: £50,000

The Role

As a Vehicle Damage Assessor, you'll be responsible for accurately assessing vehicle damage and producing repair estimates that support an efficient and high-quality repair process. You'll work closely with technicians, parts departments, insurers and customers to ensure repairs are completed to the highest standards.

About You

This role would suit an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor / Estimator who takes pride in producing accurate estimates while delivering excellent customer service.

  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor, Estimator or Bodyshop Estimator.
  • Experience using recognised estimating software such as Audatex or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of modern vehicle repair methods and insurance procedures.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple repair cases in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.
