Job summary

Nova Wakefield District, Wakefield-based charity, seeks a VCSE Development Coach to help local voluntary, community and social enterprise groups build confidence and strengthen their organisations.

You will provide one-to-one guidance, help start-ups, offer funding information and bid-writing support, design and deliver training, and connect groups with networks and resources to maximise impact.

Qualifications

  • Experience of supporting groups and organisations to achieve their goals.
  • Understanding of the value of VCSE organisations.
  • Experience of working directly with people, building positive relationships and trust.
  • Knowledge of organisational structures, finances, and income generation.
  • Excellent communication and digital skills.
  • Willingness to develop specialist VCSE sector knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • The Coach will help VCSE organisations build confidence, strengthen their organisations and achieve their goals.
  • Provide one-to-one guidance to support groups and individuals.
  • Assist in starting up new organisations and applying for funding assistance with bid writing.
  • Design and deliver training programs for VCSE groups.
  • Connect organisations with the right resources and networks to maximise impact.

It’s an exciting time at Nova with new innovative projects that will support local good causes. We are a small Wakefield-based charity with a big impact for community groups, charities and social enterprises across the district. We do this through networks, funding, advocacy and specialist advice – that’s where you could come in.

We’re looking for someone to join our friendly and collaborative team following a recent review of priorities and role. Someone that is passionate about working with the diverse range of Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations who create positive change in local communities. Support from our team helps 6 in 10 members to grow and develop, so it’s a fantastic way to use your skills to make a lasting impact.

What does this role involve?

The Coach will help VCSE organisations build confidence, strengthen their organisations and achieve their goals. They’ll do this by:

  • Providing one-to-one guidance
  • Supporting the start-up of new organisations
  • Providing funding information and support with bid writing
  • Designing and delivering training
  • Connecting organisations with the right resources and networks
