We are currently looking for a motivated Surface Design Engineer. This role will be responsible for the generation of aerodynamic surfaces required to support the aerodynamic development programme including:

1. Supporting Aerodynamicists with CAD model creation, maintenance and improvements.
2. Ensuring all surfaces are legal to FIA regulations.

Surface Design

Assess surface quality and legality of all group project surface files and provide feedback as required.

Develop time-saving efficiencies within the surface model structures.

Work with CAD specialists to develop software improvements, including macros, to increase efficiency in the surfacing & model design process.

Monitor and adjust project specifications to suit varying workload and deadlines.

Finalize files, including legality checks, of surfaces to be released for full-size production.

Maintain appropriate reference documentation.

Provide guidance and tuition to junior surfacers.

Execute day-to-day tasks, including keeping aero tracking systems up to date.

Experience

• Strong degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
• Solid foundation of engineering principles and their application to problems.
• Experience with CAD systems, preferably Siemens NX.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
