We are currently looking for a motivated Surface Design Engineer. This role will be responsible for the generation of aerodynamic surfaces required to support the aerodynamic development programme including:

• Supporting Aerodynamicists with CAD model creation, maintenance and improvements.
• Ensuring all surfaces are legal to FIA regulations.

Responsibilities

All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:

• Assess surface quality and legality of all group project surface files and feedback as required.
• Develop time-saving efficiencies within the surface model structures.
• Work with CAD specialists to develop software improvements, including macros, to increase efficiency in the surfacing & model design process.
• Monitor and adjust project specifications to suit varying workload and deadlines.
• Finalize files, including legality checks, of surface to be released to full size production.
• Maintain appropriate reference documentation.
• Guide and train junior surfacers.
• Execute daily tasks, including updating aero tracking systems.

• Collaborate with CAD specialists on software improvements.
• Adjust project specifications based on workload and deadlines.
• Finalize surface files with legality checks for production.
• Maintain documentation and mentor junior team members.
• Keep aero tracking systems up to date.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
• Strong foundation in engineering principles.
• Experience with CAD systems, preferably Siemens NX.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Problem-solving skills and initiative.
