Job Description:

We are one of two Red Bull-owned Formula 1 Teams, dedicated to excellence and performance. Every detail matters in our pursuit of success on and off the track.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design Office. You will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components, tools, and jigs related to Gearbox, Hydraulic, and Exhaust systems, from initial layouts to detailed parts. You will also help improve design workflows and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the mechanical design process from concept to detailed design, ensuring innovative and high-performance solutions.
  • Ensuring all parts comply with FIA Formula 1 Technical Regulations.
  • Developing lightweight, reliable, and aerodynamically efficient mechanical components.
  • Collaborating with relevant departments to ensure reliability of designed parts.
  • Staying updated with materials science, manufacturing technologies, and motorsport advancements.

Team and Technical Guidance:

  • Serving as the technical reference within the team for assigned tasks.
  • Mentoring junior mechanical design engineers.
  • Reviewing and approving final design releases as needed.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives within the design function.

Professionalism and Collaboration:

  • Working closely with the Mechanical Design Team Leader and Deputy to meet project goals.
  • Collaborating with Aerodynamics, Concept, Trackside Operations, and other engineering teams for seamless integration.
  • Maintaining strong communication with internal departments and liaising with suppliers and external partners.
  • Supporting race and track events from the Factory Operation Room as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design, preferably in high-performance motorsport/F1.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar.
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing, and structural analysis.
  • Experience with moulds, patterns, and tooling design is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Innovative mindset with a proactive attitude.
  • Team-oriented with a positive approach, adaptable to fast-paced environments.
