Qualifications

  • At least four years’ experience in F1 aerodynamics development.
  • Strong understanding of aerodynamics to degree level or above.
  • Technical expertise in CFD and wind tunnel testing.
  • Good CAD skills.
  • Ability to lead projects and meet strict deadlines.

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Aerodynamicist responsible for the generation of new aerodynamic concepts and designs for the race car, as well as testing and analysis of those concepts. The role involves ensuring the aerodynamic specifications of the race car are constantly evolving to improve performance. You will oversee the full development cycle of aerodynamic components, including concept, testing, analysis, and reporting, and help develop innovative aerodynamic processes, tools, and thinking to push the boundaries of aerodynamic design and performance. Additionally, the role involves teaching and inspiring junior aerodynamicists to achieve greater success.

Aerodynamics
  • Create new geometries using CAD
  • Submit geometries for testing in WT and CFD, managing the process
  • Analyse CFD and wind tunnel results and recommend track testing of performant geometries
  • Define, specify, and manage wind tunnel tests
  • Conduct wind tunnel testing (some shift work may be required)
Professionalism
  • Suggest, investigate, and implement new methods to improve efficiency in aerodynamic design, testing, and reporting
  • Maintain flexibility in attendance and attitude to work, aligning with role and project requirements
  • Work professionally and proactively promote a positive image for the department, team, and sponsors
Mentorship and Communication
  • Collaborate with team leaders to develop innovative aerodynamic concepts
  • Oversee and mentor junior aerodynamicists to enhance their skills
  • Maintain good relationships with related groups and communicate effectively across departments

Experience
