Job summary

Xeinadin Group in Macclesfield is seeking a motivated VAT assistant to join our office. You will maintain bookkeeping records, prepare VAT returns and Making Tax Digital returns, support advisory work, and build strong client relationships.

You will work with cloud accounting tools like Xero and Dext, manage multiple clients, and assist with month-end processes. The role offers a hybrid model and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Strong bookkeeping and VAT experience.
• Experience managing multiple clients and deadlines.
• Proficiency in cloud accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and client relationships.
• Knowledge of VAT and basic accounting principles.
• Experience of Xero, Dext and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide bookkeeping and VAT services with accurate records.
• Maintain client accounting records using cloud software.
• Process sales and purchase invoices, bank transactions, and journal entries.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Assist with month-end and year-end processes.
• Liaise with clients to resolve queries and gather information.
• Support accountants with management accounts and statutory accounts.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
