An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Practitioner role (Registered Nurse or Podiatrist) in Vascular Surgery. Vascular Surgery is a complex specialty with typically complex and frail patients. We are looking for a motivated individual to take on the role as a Vascular Practitioner. This will be a role with significant autonomy, but will also require excellent inter-personal skills, independent decision making, and the ability to work within the Multidisciplinary team.

This is a Specialist Practitioner post responsible for aspects of high-quality Specialist Nursing or Podiatry care, mainly outpatient, providing expert advice and support for patients with vascular conditions.
The post holder will act as an expert resource for Nursing and Medical staff, offering advice, support, and education based on clinical evidence. They will liaise with relevant departments, lead clinicians, and other services, including community teams, to ensure coordinated care.
Responsibilities include developing partnerships with communities and agencies, planning and delivering care programs, and service development. Training will be provided at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and Torbay Hospital, leading to roles such as conducting independent clinics, presenting at multidisciplinary meetings, liaising with primary and secondary care, discussing palliative and end-of-life care, and health promotion.
The role is evolving, and the successful applicant will adapt their role to their specialization and the unit's needs. Prior experience in independent decision-making roles is essential.
